Again a deep, bassy minimalism. However this tape is a lot more accessible than “MCMXC” – it has ‘tracks’, and the sound’s a little easier on the ear (although turning up the volume does nasty things to the viscera!). They manage to access that rich, deep sound usually only found in cinema sound systems, the sort which vibrates through your seat & up your legs & sets your diaphragm a-humming. It becomes quite sinister in parts – the lack of vocals dehumanising it, adding strangeness to strangeness. It’s not unlike POPUL VUH in their most minimal, atmospheric mood, Keep an eye on these: they’re obviously nonconformist in the most positive way. Oh, and be prepared to replace your speakers – this stuff is lethal!
